New Weather Trend: Heavy Rain in Delhi-NCR, Heat Impact in Gujarat-Mumbai

The weather across the country is changing significantly these days. Rain is expected today in the capital Delhi and its surrounding areas. Light coolness is felt in the morning and evening, but strong sunshine and hot winds are troubling people in the afternoon.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that temperatures may rise rapidly at the beginning of April, leading to conditions like heat and heatwave.

Dry Weather in North India, Heatwave Alert in Rajasthan

The weather in the plains of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab, Haryana, and Uttarakhand remains completely dry for now. Dusty winds are likely in these areas, which will not only increase the heat but also affect visibility and air quality. In the lower reaches of the hilly states, strong sunlight is accelerating the melting of snow, and daytime temperatures are also rising.

Heat has taken a severe form in Rajasthan. Temperatures in Jaisalmer, Barmer, and Bikaner are reaching close to 40 degrees Celsius, and heatwave-like conditions are developing. Even in the capital Jaipur, the roads appear deserted due to strong hot winds in the afternoon. The administration has advised people not to venture out unnecessarily during the afternoon.

Impact of Heat in Gujarat and Mumbai, Pre-Monsoon Showers in South India

The impact of heat is most observed in Gujarat, where the mercury has reached 35 to 39 degrees Celsius. Strong hot winds have affected people’s daily routines. Meanwhile, humid heat due to oceanic moisture has troubled Mumbai. Although the temperature is around 30-33 degrees, the felt heat is much higher.

The weather in South India appears to be a relief. Pre-monsoon activities have started in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain with thunder and lightning, and strong winds are possible in these states. The presence of clouds will lead to a drop in temperature and provide relief from the heat.
