Ranveer Singh’s film ‘Dhurandhar 2’ made a tremendous opening in cinemas, earning 240 crore worldwide on its first day of release, which includes 75 crore from paid previews. After this, earning faster than a bullet train, the film crossed a worldwide collection of more than 1000 crore in its first week itself.
The film’s second weekend was also fantastic, with a net earning of over 170 crore at the domestic box office—which is more than the opening weekend earnings of any film. With this, ‘Dhurandhar 2’s domestic collection increased to 847 crore net, which is a new record for Bollywood. However, on Monday, a dip in the film’s collection was observed for the first time.
‘Dhurandhar 2’ Worldwide Only Behind Three Films
Ranveer Singh’s ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has so far grossed 1,392 crore worldwide and is just a few steps away from the 1,400 crore mark. With this achievement, the film is now only behind ‘Dangal’ (2,070 crore), ‘Baahubali 2’ (1,788 crore), and ‘Pushpa 2’ (1,724 crore).
Left Bobby and Sholay Behind Overseas
Overseas, Dhurandhar 2 was not released in Gulf countries, yet it made it into the top 15 highest-grossing Indian films. Its $38 million earning overseas surpassed all-time blockbuster films like ‘Bobby’ ($29.4 million), ‘Sholay’ ($28.2 million), and ‘Pushpa 2’ ($31 million).
