A big news has emerged from Punjab politics. H.S. Phoolka, former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA and senior Supreme Court lawyer, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday afternoon. He has returned to active politics after nearly seven years, which is considered a significant boost for the BJP in Punjab.

Phoolka is a well-known lawyer in the Supreme Court and Delhi High Court. He is recognized as one of the prominent figures who fought for justice for the victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. He strongly advocated for the victims for many years, earning him special respect in the Sikh community and Punjab.

Phoolka, who previously served as an MLA from the Dakha assembly constituency, formally joined the BJP at the party headquarters in Delhi in the presence of Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Punjab BJP President Sunil Jakhar, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva, and party National General Secretary Tarun Chugh, among other leaders.

H.S. Phoolka’s Political Journey

Phoolka began his political career with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in 2014. In the same year, he contested the Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana but lost to Congress’s Ravneet Singh Bittu by approximately 19,700 votes.
