Gang selling newborn babies busted in Hyderabad

For the sake of a few rupees, some people do not deter even innocent children to deal with. The latest case is from Hyderabad. An employee of an IVF center in the city and four others have been arrested by the police for running a racket to sell newborn babies here. In fact, on July 28, Nenavat Radha, the ICDS supervisor of Deverakonda, had lodged a complaint with the police that a labor couple had sold their newborn baby girl. While probing the case of the newborn, Nalgonda police came to know that the couple had sold another child to a couple of the same mandal a year ago. On enquiry, the parents disclosed where the child was sold last year. After which the police saved the one-year-old girl. Later she was shifted to the crche at Nalgonda.

However, the police did not get any clear information from the parents about where they had sold their newborn. Police have registered a case under JJ Act and on August 2, Nalgonda police arrested Babu Reddy and his associates V Shyam, E Madhavi, C Madhavi and S Vasantha, working at the IVF center in Habiguda. In fact, the accused had contacted the newborn's family and settled a deal to sell the girl child for Rs 3 lakh. Based on the confession of the accused, the child was found at the house of a couple in Miryalaguda. The girl has been handed over to the officials of the Child Welfare Department.
