Mahua Majine took oath as a Member of Parliament in the Upper House on the first day of the Monsoon Session. After the proceedings of the Rajya Sabha started on Monday, Mahua Maji's name was called on the orders of Chairman Venkaiah Naidu, after the name was called, Mahua reached the Chairperson's podium and took oath. She said that she will use this platform to raise the voice of the people of her state and will also pressurize the government to recognize the Sarna Dharma Code. After taking oath in the Rajya Sabha, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha MP Mahua Maji voted for the Presidential election in the Rajya Sabha itself. Under the direction of party supremo Shibu Soren, Mahua Maji has voted in favor of NDA candidate Draupadi Murmu.

Mahua Maji has become the first woman Rajya Sabha member of Jharkhand. It is a matter of pride for the people of Jharkhand that a woman from here has become a Rajya Sabha member for the first time.
