New date for bail plea of IAS Pooja Singhal set

The hearing on the bail plea of suspended IAS officer Pooja Singhal in the MNREGA scam case was held in the special ED court today. During the hearing, a certified copy of the chargesheet filed by the ED was demanded from the court on behalf of Pooja Singhal's lawyer Vishwajit Mukherjee. After this, the ED court fixed the next date of hearing. Now the next hearing will be on July 26.

ED files chargesheet against seven people including Pooja Singhal
In the hearing held on July 4, the ED has filed a charge sheet against seven people, including Pooja Singhal, in the special court. The chargesheet submitted in the special court of ED contains the full story of the black exploits of the accused. These include Pooja Singhal's husband Abhishek Jha, CA Suman Singh, then junior engineer of Khunti Zilla Parishad Ram Vinod Sinha, then assistant engineer Rajendra Jain, then executive engineer Jai Kishore Chaudhary, then executive engineer of Khunti special division Shashi Prakash.

The ED had raided more than 20 locations of Pooja Singhal in Jharkhand on May 6 in connection with the MNREGA scam and money laundering case. In which Rs 19.31 crore was recovered. In this case, the CA Suman Kumar of Pooja Singhal's husband Abhishek Jha was taken on remand. In which he initially refused to tell anything. Later in this case accused Pooja Singhal was also called for questioning but she was unable to give correct information about these money. After which he was also taken on remand. In this case, the Hemant government of Jharkhand has suspended Pooja Singhal.
