New security feature coming soon on WhatsApp, the way to use it on desktop will change

Meta-owned messaging app WhatsApp is very cautious about the privacy of its users. The app keeps on releasing new updates and features to secure the data of the users. The company uses end-to-end encryption to protect chats from leaking. Similarly, the company offers Two-Step Verification feature to login to the user's account in the phone. Apart from the phone, people also use WhatsApp a lot on the web. To make WhatsApp web more secure along with mobile, now the company is working on a security feature for this as well. After which you will be able to use WhatsApp easily on laptop or web.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is planning to bring two-step verification feature to desktop and web versions in its upcoming update. WABetaInfo has also shared a screenshot showing that the two-step verification feature can be enabled or disabled on the web and desktop versions.

Two-step verification will be available on web/desktop
WABetaInfo wrote in its post, “It will be possible to enable or disable two-step verification on the web/desktop client. This is very important especially when you lose your phone and can't remember your PIN. You can restore it by requesting the reset link, but if you are temporarily unable to log in to your mail account,”

As you know, two-step verification is already available on the mobile app version. Using which you can login to your account. For that, you just have to register your phone number with the app, then you have to enter a personal PIN and you will be able to login to your account in a secure way.

Users will be able to migrate chats from Android to iPhone
WhatsApp is reportedly working on a feature for users to migrate chats from their Android devices to iPhone. Recently the company has been seen testing it. However, users already can easily migrate their data and chats from iPhone to Android.

This new one was seen in the latest WhatsApp Beta for iOS v22.2.74. At the moment, it is not available to everyone at the moment. It is believed that WhatsApp will rely on an app called Move to iOS to make the migration possible.
