Four members of a gang have been arrested in Bengaluru for threatening widows and divorced women, extorting them and making nude videos of them, assaulting, blackmailing them. Police gave this information on Monday. According to the police, the accused, including a woman, targeted the victims on the pretext of providing them financial aid and jobs. The arrested have been identified as Ravi, his wife Mangala, Srinivas and Shivakumar, residents of Chikkagolarahatti in Kunigal taluk of Tumakuru district. . Srinivas and Shivakumar are brothers and work in a gas agency. The accused also identified widows, divorced women and those who were living separately from their partners. Mangala used to contact them and help them after collecting their details. He used to offer them, sympathize with them, talk to them over the phone and gain trust. Once the victims were lured, he called them to some place assuring them of jobs. The accused used to kidnap them and take them to secluded places, after which they used to show weapons and threaten them to take off their clothes. When the victims protested, they were beaten up and their nude videos were made. Later, the accused threatened him to make the nude video viral and extort money and gold from him. The police have seized gold worth Rs 1.20 lakh, Rs 70,000 in cash, as well as the car and weapons used to commit the crime. It is learned that the accused had tortured eight women. However, the victims did not lodge a police complaint fearing the consequences. Well, one of the abducted victims from the Mahalaxmi Layout police station had lodged a complaint with the police. She had told that the accused kidnapped her in the car and took her to a secluded place in Tavrekere and stripped her of her clothes and made a nude video. They took 23 grams of gold and transferred her Rs 84,000 digitally. 40 thousand rupees in cash were also found from the accused. Acting on the complaint, the police caught the gang. During interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime.
