Record of GST collection was made in April
This happened for the first time in April 2022 when the GST collection crossed Rs 1.5 lakh crore. Gross GST revenue was recorded at Rs 1,67,540 crore in April. Of this, CGST was Rs 33,159 crore, SGST was Rs 41,793 crore, IGST was Rs 81,939 crore and cess was Rs 10,649 crore.
GST collection may increase due to increase in rates
There may be an increase in GST collection in the coming days. The reason for this is the decision taken in the meeting of the GST Council in the month of June to increase and impose GST on some things. Due to the increase in GST rates, many essential items including curd, lassi, rice and flour have become expensive. Now 5% GST is being levied on tetra packed curd, lassi and butter milk and 5% GST on unbranded pre-packaged and pre-labeled atta and dal. The new rates have come into effect from July 18.
