Indian radio host attacked in Canada for opposing Khalistan

An Indo-Canadian media person has been attacked for criticizing Khalistan supporters in Canada. The host of a Punjabi-language talk show network, Greater Toronto Area, was attacked by three men. Frontline radio host Deepak Punj was surrounded by three youths on Wednesday around 12.30 pm when he was on his way towards his studio building.

A day earlier, he had criticized Khalistan flags and raised anti-India slogans in the GTA city of Brampton on Sunday during the show. He told Hindustan Times that 'he asked me if I had done any show on the subject and then attacked me.'

Punj said he reported the attack to local law enforcement and it was being investigated. He said the attackers spoke to him in English and Punjabi. They gave the police the last three numbers of the license plate of the vehicle in which they had come. He said that I am being harassed because I am from Punjab and I oppose Khalistan.

Punj said that he has also criticized New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jagmeet Singh. He said that Singh had repeatedly supported the opposition to anti-agriculture laws in India, when it came to the truck drivers' strike in Ottawa, he not only opposed that movement, but urged the House of Commons to call for a minority government emergency. also helped pass the Act.
