Tomorrow i.e. from July 18, many things of need are going to be expensive. In the meeting held last month, the GST Council has decided to increase the GST rate. With the increase in GST rates, many essential items including curd, lassi, rice and flour will become expensive.
Dairy products and flour will be expensive, 18% GST on LED lights and LED lamps, treatment is also expensive, more money will have to be paid for hotel rooms, business class travel will be expensive, keeping goods in warehouse will also be expensive
Flights originating from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Sikkim, Tripura, Bagdogra, which were tax-free till now, will now be exempt from GST only on economy class and 18% rate for business class travel. GST will be levied on hotel rooms below Rs.1000. The government has increased GST on service etc. Now GST will be collected on it at the rate of 18%. Not only this, the GST on LED lights and LED lamps has also been increased from 12% to 18%.
