Heavyweight lifter Lovepreet Singh increased India's medal tally at the Commonwealth Games by winning a bronze medal in the men's 109kg category at the National Exhibition Center here on Wednesday. 24-year-old Lovepreet Singh lifted 163 in snatch and 192 kg in clean and jerk for a total of 355 kg, leaving him behind junior Perilex Ngadja Nyabeyu of Cameroon. Lovepreet, however, made a superb lift in every attempt and all six attempts. This is India's 14th overall medal tally at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, with five gold, five silver and four bronze medals.
