After this he joined Trinamool Congress. Babul Supriyo was born in 1970 in Uttarpara, West Bengal. Her first name was Supriya Baral. After quitting his banking job, he changed his name to Babul Supriyo while trying his luck as a singer. The arrest of Partha Chatterjee in the teacher recruitment scam case has led to a reshuffle in Mamata Banerjee's cabinet. Partha Chatterjee was called number two in the Mamata Banerjee government. He had got powerful positions in the party and government. He held high-profile ministries such as Commerce and Industry, Parliamentary Affairs, Information Technology and Electronics and Public Enterprises and Industrial Reconstruction.
