Metal rod in wrist, Pragya Mohan's spirits still high

The story of Pragya Mohan, who led the Indian team in the triathlon on the first day of the Commonwealth Games, is very inspiring. So far 5 accidents have happened. There have been 2 surgeries and metal rods are lying in the wrist and leg. Despite this, Pragya Mohan is a medal hope for India in the CWG triathlon. Their troubles are not so much. The road where she practices is also very rough. There was no coach, who could coach her, yet Pragya's spirits never diminished.
Practicing since 5 years
For the last 5 years, Pragya Mohan wakes up before sunrise every day in Ahmedabad. The 27-year-old has faced an accident 5 times during the competition on training. Although he has also trained for 6 months in Australia and Spain. Along with Pragya, four India members Adarsh MS, Vishwanath Yadav and Sanjana Joshi are also in the race for medals. These contestants are representing the country in swimming, cycling and running respectively, in which India is yet to win a medal. But the focus will be only on Pragya who is the national and South Asian champion. She is the only Indian to participate in the Triathlon World Cup. Pragya's father Pratap says that we knew she had the potential to make a career in sports. But no one thought that she would participate in the triathlon.

wanted to swim first
Pragya was earlier thinking of choosing swimming. Pragya started competing at the age of eight. She was good at swimming but never won a medal. His elder brother Prateek says that there used to be mini-marathons in the school at that time. Where she used to win easily, beating girls twice her age. The pool in which Pragya used to train was 10 km away from her house. Initially, her father used to take her but later Pragya herself started commuting for practice by cycling 20 kms daily.

How did Pragya prepare?
Pragya knew that if she wanted to learn cycling on the roads of India, she had to get up before sunrise. She used to get up at 4 o'clock every day and leave for training before 5 o'clock. There was also a problem for swimming as there were no Olympic-sized swimming pools. Crocodiles are found in most of the lakes and rivers of Gujarat. One has to be very careful to swim here. This was the reason why Pragya used to train in a 25 meter swimming pool. Which was not good for training. This is the reason why Pragya has been spending six months every year in Australia or Spain for the last four years.
