Rupee strengthens by 45 paise against dollar

The volatility in the Indian rupee continues. Today's Friday trading session for the rupee proved to be the best in almost a year. Heavy buying in domestic equity markets and weakness in the greenback strengthened investor sentiment, led the rupee to close 45 paise higher at 79.24 against the US dollar on Friday. Forex dealers said fresh foreign inflows also supported the domestic unit.

How much rupee rose due to the movement of intraday high and intraday low
Let us tell you that in the interbank foreign exchange market, the domestic currency was open strongly at 79.55 per dollar. During the session it ranged from Intraday High 79.56 to Intraday Low 79.17. The rupee closed at 79.24 against the greenback, up 45 paise from its previous close. In the previous session, the rupee had gained 22 paise to close at 79.69 against the US dollar.

Stock market continues to boom
Talking about the stock market, the BSE Sensex closed 712.46 points or 1.25 per cent higher at 57,570.25, while the NSE Nifty closed 228.65 points or 1.35 per cent higher at 17,158.25. The dollar index, which measures the greenback's strength against a basket of six currencies, slipped 0.21 per cent to 106.13.

Foreign investors remained net buyers in the capital market
Foreign institutional investors became net buyers in the capital market as they bought shares worth Rs 1,637.69 crore on Thursday, according to exchange data. At the same time, global oil benchmark Brent crude futures rose 2.28 per cent to $109.58 per barrel.
