Tejaswin won bronze in high jump

Tejaswin Shankar of India won the historic bronze medal in the men's high jump event at the Commonwealth Games 2022. Shankar did his best with 2.22m at the Eccleander Stadium on Wednesday. He gave India its first medal in the high jump event at the Commonwealth Games. Former World and Commonwealth Games champion Donald Thomas from the Bahamas jumped 2.22m with Shankar, but the Indian earned the bronze as he jumped 2.10m in all his jumps. Overcame this hurdle in my very first attempt at 2.15m, 2.19m and 2.22m. It is like a dream come true and I am happy to take some home with me. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shankar for winning India's first athletics medal in the men's high jump event. Modi tweeted, Tejaswin Shankar creates history, won his first high jump medal at the Commonwealth Games. Congratulations to him on winning the bronze medal. Proud of their efforts.
