However, this figure of deaths has increased slightly compared to yesterday. According to the data, the number of newly infected patients has decreased by about 4 thousand as compared to the previous day. On Friday, the number of infected was 3.37 lakh and 488 people died. A day before this, on Thursday, 3.47 lakh people were found infected and 703 people died. In the third wave, the total active case figure has crossed 21 lakh for the first time. At present, the number of active cases in the country is 21.87 lakh. The number of active cases on Friday was 21.13 lakh. The total active cases touched the 1 lakh mark on December 31. In this context, in just 22 days, the total active cases have increased to 21 times. The daily positivity rate in the country is 17.78%. At the same time, the weekly positivity rate is 16.87%.

Delhi saw an increase in daily cases on Saturday. In the last 24 hours, 45 deaths have been registered due to corona infection. This figure is the highest in a day in the third wave. Earlier on June 5, 60 people had lost their lives in a single day. 11,486 new cases have been found here, which is 7% more than the cases found a day earlier. Earlier on Friday, 10,756 new infections were found and 38 deaths were recorded. The positivity rate stood at 17.8%. The active cases in the capital have come down to 58593. Earlier on Friday, there were 61,954 active cases.

In the last 24 hours, 46,393 cases have been reported in Maharashtra, which is 1877 less than Friday. In the last 24 hours in Mumbai, 3,568 new cases were reported, 231 recoveries and 10 deaths were recorded. Active cases are 17,497. In the state of Kerala also 45,136 new infected have been found on Saturday, while 21,324 patients have been cured and 70 people have died.
