The officials held a meeting to review the preparations for the Kanwar Yatra, after which it was also decided to conduct checks in different parts of the district to keep a watch on any "attempts of mischief" during festivals. The District Magistrate, who presided over the meeting, asked the police to ensure that no citizen was harassed during the checking operation.
After the meeting, the DM said, "During the meeting held with the police officers and other department heads, they have been asked to prepare a detailed plan to ensure hassle-free Kanwar Yatra in the district." After the routes are finalised, the officials will visit the areas and identify the meat and liquor shops to be kept closed during the yatra. Power department officials have been directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply in the district during the yatra. went.
